Why We Don’t Add Supplements to Every Batch of Dog Food + Why That’s a Good Thing for Your Pup
When it comes to your dog’s health, one size definitely doesn't fit all. That’s why at Danielle’s Doggie Style, we make a very intentional decision not to add supplements or nutrients to our food batches by default.
Each pup is unique — from age, size, breed, + energy levels to medical history, food sensitivities, + even lifestyle. What one dog needs more of, another may need less of (or none at all!). That’s why I customize every supplement add-in based on your dog’s individual needs + never before learning more about them first.
Here's why we do it this way:
🦴 Not all dogs need the same nutrients.
Some dogs might benefit from added calcium or joint support. Others might already be getting those nutrients elsewhere — or could even have conditions where too much of a nutrient could cause harm.
🧠 You get peace of mind knowing your dog’s food is truly tailored.
When we talk about your dog’s diet, you’re not just choosing a flavor — you’re creating a nutrition plan that supports their overall health. I’ll learn more about your pup + work with you to add only what they actually need.
💰 It keeps your cost down unless add-ins are necessary.
Because each supplement has its own cost, I don’t charge for nutrients that your pup may not need. Instead, I’ll price any add-ins individually, only after we’ve determined together what’s best for your dog.
🐾 Your pup deserves personalized care — not a cookie-cutter meal.
Just like you wouldn’t take random vitamins without understanding your own body, your dog’s nutrition should be approached with the same care + attention.
If you ever want to add calcium, taurine, multivitamins, or other supplemental support to your dog’s food — just ask! We are always happy to guide you through what’s appropriate based on their health, diet, + your vet’s recommendations.
Every scoop of food from Danielle’s Doggie Style is made with love, care, + your dog’s unique needs in mind. 💛
🐾 A Note About Salmon Oil
There is one healthy ingredient that I include in every batch I make: wild-caught salmon oil. Salmon oil is a natural source of Omega-3 fatty acids, which support healthy skin, shiny coats, joint mobility, + brain function. I add just enough to provide a boost of essential nutrients without overwhelming your pup’s system + without interfering with any additional supplements we might tailor specifically for them.
